Sketchbook Spread Numero Uno

This is what you draw when you're bored before and during Italian class.  My professor is the perfect person to sketch if you want to get hand motions down.  (And I know put the color order for the flag wrong.  It's Green, White and Red.)

Male PMSing...

This is what happens when you watch Phantom of the Opera with a dude.

Neko no Shuukai~ by Makoto Shinkai

This is basically the kind of animation I love.  Obviously, I my taste lies in the very complex and detailed ways of Japanese animation, but that's just the kind of person I am: very detail-oriented.  The realism in the lighting, the colors and the animation itself is just too awesome to me!  The contrast of the cat's simple design to all the other characters and the background is cute.  I also like the comedic aspect to this.  I love the unusual plots and unique characters that the Japanese always seem to come up with.  I've also been a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki since I was a toddler. (The very first VHS I owned and first movie I ever watched was My Neighbor Totoro.)  I also enjoy American animation, thus my dream to work at Disney.
Here's another short that obviously is just a rough animation.  It's by J.G. Quintel, who is the creator of Regular Show.  He has extremely avant-garde plots but his characters match them perfectly.  The expressions are believable and they seriously act like people who you can meet anywhere nowadays!  I seriously did not want to watch that at all because of how stupid I thought it was, but a couple of friends told me to give it a chance and now I think it is hilarious.  This short is kinda vulgar because of swearing and other topics, but we're all here to see animation styles, right?  (That was a warning.)

"Sketchbook" quote

"Sketching is to the artist what shadow boxing is to a boxer, keyboard practice is to a concert pianist, practice is to a tennis player, or a participant in any sport (or endeavor)."
"Never sit in front of the TV without a sketch pad on your lap."

(A bunch of sketches from the Kappa episode of Destination Truth on Syfy.)

Adventure 101

The main cast in full-color!80  I had a lot of fun designing them.  Especially because of who they're all inspired by... hehe Ignore that ink blot. (You see it... :P)  I inked and colored this with Copics while in an airplane flying over the Pacific, so something must have gone wrong with my black inking pen... Oh well.  This was also an artwork I included in my ACM portfolio.

The Dreaded Gum Wall

For those of you who watch 'Ghost Adventures' on Travel Channel, this was what popped into my head when Zak pushed Aaron towards the gum wall.  I sketched it right away in front of the TV.  (I thought the wall was nasty and pretty cool looking at the same time.)  I designed these characters a while ago, but yes, they are inspired by the GA crew.  One's a girl because I thought there was a need to have one.  These characters are a part of a series I made up called 'Adventure 101', which will be "premiering" in class...

Campus Center Sketches

Here's a sketchbook page that I included in my portfolio submission for ACM 215/216...  If you see anyone you know... Yeah...

Food Fight!

Ciao!  This is my very first post, and it's a sketch of some characters of my friend and mine in a food fight-ish pose. This is based on one of the many stories that we write together.  My friend and I are in it too.  (See if you can spot me. lol) The title pretty much says it all.  Please excuse my French.
